130-plus citizens, groups file to intervene in approval process for Keystone XL route across state
LINCOLN — More than 130 citizens and several environmental and labor groups have asked to formally intervene for and against the proposed route for the Keystone XL pipeline across Nebraska.
The list includes 92 landowners being represented by widely known Omaha attorney Dave Domina, the national environmental group 350.org, three labor unions and two Indian tribes.
Pipeline developer TransCanada Inc. filed last month for approval of a 275-mile route for its 36-inch crude oil pipeline across the state.
The route is the same approved in 2013 by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality.
