Attended a phone town hall last night...

Rep Stansbury & NM AG Torrez.

Very organized, thorough, and informative considering the volatile situation.

They touched on the major federal and state actions and initiatives.

Mainly:

The NM Congressional Delegation’s awareness and stand on the illegal EOs and their relationship to Project 2025. A realization that Musk/DOGE has no legal standing to act in or represent themselves as being a part of the federal government. (It’s all a Potemkin village.) Also, an explanation of why it’s important for the Democratic Congress to stay in their lane and try to maintain the separation of powers in their efforts.

How the USAid and Department of Education are the current hot zones in the fight on funding.

A discussion about opening channels of communication with constituents and residents of NM at both the State and Federal level. A critical piece, IMHO. These portals are live and monitored. Unfortunately, I was too busy running in tiny circles screaming (on mute) to take notes. If you are interested or need to start the process of getting help, these resources can probably be found by visiting the NM AG and Rep Stansbury’s websites.

NM DOJ: https://nmdoj.gov/
Rep Stansbury: https://stansbury.house.gov/

There was quite a bit of discussion of the status of immigrants, minorities, women, and the LGBTQ+ community in NM. Stressing the emphasis of protecting their interests in the State from the anti-DEI attacks led by the Trump government and echoed by so many of the GOP. Our representatives take that very seriously in the land of enchantment.

And there was a reassuring air of determination. Which I always respect.

They have been taken over. They are not functioning as they were intended anymore. They are compromised.

They are not 'hot zones'. They are rethug victories.
