Hamilton Co. early voting numbers indicate Republicans embracing access to ballot box before Election Day

CINCINNATI — Busy ballot booths have been a common site at the Hamilton County Early Vote Center since early in-person voting began on Tuesday.

"I'm a busy person, and I have the day off from work today," said Marie Kennedy, an independent voter who lives in Springfield Township. "It's a beautiful day. And I thought, I don't know what's going to be happening in November, so I'm going to do it (vote) while I'm able."

Plenty of other people feel the same way.

A comparison of the first two days of early in-person voting this election cycle in Hamilton Co. shows a 25 percent increase compared to 2020 when President Joe Biden was challenging then-President Donald Trump.

Raw numbers show more Democrats than Republicans and Independents have voted so far this week. But it's clear people aligned with the GOP are embracing the concept of banking their ballot early.

The headline makes it appear that Republicans are dominating early voting, which is misleading. Lonestarblue Oct 11 #3

There was an uptick in GOP early voting in the 2023 Virginia election but it was due to the most active Republicans showing up before Election Day.

The article states that “Raw numbers show more Democrats than Republicans and Independents have voted so far this week.”

Is this headline intended to influence future voters to think that voting for Democrats is a lost cause?
