(5,376 posts)As a long-time supporter of John's, I'm not getting this. Will wait and see how this unfolds, meanwhile, it's my opinion Kate Brown would make a fine governor.

(19,326 posts)by giving press the unseemly details about her being 'summoned' by the gov,
then asked by Kitz why she was back so soon?

(5,376 posts)But Kate was honest, I'll give her that. Like I said...guess we'll see how this all plays out.
Love my home state. Oregon: She Flies With Her Own Wings.

(3,919 posts)and it isn't the governor. he was elected by the people of oregon - even after allegations about cylvia arose months before the election.

(5,376 posts)My vote was to keep John in office. Lots of other Oregonians felt the same, it appears. Again, I'll wait to see how all this plays out. I see the Senate President and House Speaker (both Dems) have asked John to resign. Seems to be a lot of interest beyond our state borders in this situation. Stay tuned.

(3,490 posts)Doesn't sound good. I would prefer to let the investigations take place, but if he's panicking and losing his marbles, he needs to step down. His decision to get involved with Hayes has ruined his career. Let Brown govern Oregon.

(14,136 posts)His office asked for personal emails from a personal email account which had apparently been inadvertently included in the archive to be deleted from that archive. That is not odd to me, although the timing and situation suck, and lead to lots of chances for people to imply wrongdoing.
Calling Brown back, and the interactions she is reporting.. that's a bit odd and troubling though. Something strange is going on, and seeing as we are not Mid Election at the moment, Id rather wait a bit and let more of this unfold before making any judgements.

(9,200 posts)It might be a cancer diagnosis, a pink slip at work, death of a spouse or child, discovery of betrayed trust ... It's sudden and it's dispositive. And it's not a dream. You wake up and there it is.
Of course, not all such awakenings are negative. There's the birth of a child, a promotion, meeting one's future spouse...
But this one has to leave a mark.

(4,458 posts)juncture if he had a fall? (There is a red mark on his face) and suffered a mild concussion? Or a small stroke? A sort of nervous breakdown? The overwhelming pressure of a LONG, long hard fought campaign, then the scandal broke over the summer...after he won...the scandal only heated up...all this- while running the state and dealing with the normal, stressful daily grind of being governor..he's in his mid-60's...he's had ZERO "down-time" to recover, if you will from built up said stress...If I put myself in his shoes...I couldn't last long, I can tell you.
Over the years I have felt there were "political shenanigans" going on that were not necessarily favoring regular ol' Oregonians......"selected contract awards" etc, oil trains, SB 817, Anti-Cannabis for both medical/personal use etc...But...He's only a mortal human, after-all.
Like/dislike Kitz...I am seeing a man, I voted for-4 times...break down...he's definitely Not himself. Something is Way off....I almost - at this point - feel sorry for him.

(3,919 posts)mark on his left cheek. looks like the kind of mark/bruising one gets from aging - or some type of blunt force. also voted for him and know i would not be able to stand up to so much stress. he is not himself and the fact he has not been seen in person and would not appear in public is concerning - but understood.
