How hot is it?

Temp. in the 90s and 100?

Got an email from a friend:

Here's how hot it really is...

Yesterday I saw a robin pulling an angleworm out of what's left of my lawn.

She was using a pot holder...

Wishing you a drenching el nino. Should be just around the corner

but at least part of NM caught a break via a cold front coming in from the east. Today is quite bearable, temperatures will be normal instead of up in the stratosphere with Texas humidity.

It's 90 right now where I am, the worst part of that is, we're socked in by smoke from nearby fires--as in north, south, east and west of here. Smoke's gotta go somewhere, but sure would be nice if we could stop it at the border.

As has been noted, el nino will do us no good, unless it presents itself in the form of lots and lots of snow in the mountains. Pretty grim summer we're having, with no end in sight.

Cheers.
