Oregon man accused of sending threatening texts to woman for $100 sex refund
A Medford man was arrested earlier this week after authorities say he texted threats to a woman he paid for sex to get a refund of his $100.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a 32-year-old Central Point woman told police Timothy J. Freeman, 31, paid her in cash after their encounter at his home on Aug. 4. He began texting her two weeks later claiming he had video of them having sex and "there would be consequences" if he didn't receive $100 within 48 hours, the affidavit said.
The woman told police she never gave Freeman consent to record them, the affidavit said. She said she was worried he would publicly release the footage he claimed he had. It doesn't appear from court records that the woman paid the $100.
Freeman was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Jackson County Jail. He is accused of attempted theft by extortion, attempted coercion, prostitution and invasion of personal privacy. The woman was not arrested.
