Question about Senator Cornyn, his recent tweet about Brown v. Board of Education and electability..

Last edited Sat Jun 25, 2022, 04:44 PM - Edit history (1)

I am not trolling here. Those of you who know me, know I've been here a very long time. A sincere question:

Can Cornyn survive after that tweet ? Or is his re-election so far away that people might forget ? Or is he retiring ? Thanks in advance.

Steve

eta: His attempt to clarify... why didn't he just spell it all out in the very first tweet ? #ownthelibs I guess

That one is what ended the "separate but equal" segregation. He is openly spouting racist bullshit at a former president.

You’re either going to have segregation, or you’re not. Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), established the separate but equal standard. Brown v. Bd. of Education (1954) overruled Plessy and ordered that schools be integrated with “all deliberate speed.”

The majority on the Supreme Court refused to answer whether they believe Brown was correctly decided. They’re coming for Brown, although they’ll have to go through the Civil Rights Act to do it. Clarence may find his chambers’ in a shack in the parking lot, where he can attend conferences and arguments by zoom.

Next week's ruling limiting EPA authority. And Uncle Clarence has telegraphed that marriage equality and birth control are on the way out.

He's McConnell's right hand man.
He's up for re-election in 2026, he is two years younger than Chuck Schumer.

Cornyn has been around for a long time.

Although he's an ass voting wise, (of course he is) gaffes like this are rare for him.
He tends to be pretty guarded about his image.

His original tweet created unnecessary alarm in some people, but he had to clarify that he was being facetious. He should not have made that first tweet to Obama. It was racist/racist sounding,-"white privilege and tone deaf". Cornyn is alot like George W Bush when it comes to race issues. Cornyn would not support old style Jim Crow style segregation.
