1. I'd like to see a lot more done about alcohol junkies. It seems like this is what it takes for some of them and we

let it go that far. I'd like to see people's alcohol purchasing privilege yanked for a number of things. Domestic violence, getting booted out of bars or any other problems they cause because mommy didn't teach them to hold a glass like a big boy.

Our culture should stigmatize people that think they need to behave like a bed wetting mama's boy because they've had a few drinks. I guy on your softball team causes a fight at the bar after a game, kick his ass off the team. Someone can't handle their shit, don't let them drink with you.

I was a trustee at our local Eagles lodge for seven years. There was no end to problems in the lounge at what was supposed to be a private club. I suggested changes over and over partly just to yank some chains. We used to boot drunk assholes for 30 and then 90 days if they didn't grow up. I said make the first one just a probation. They can come in a drink but while on probation their drinks are served in a baby bottle! LOL

2. Yep this needs a supply side solution

The booze dealers need to check ID against a Don't Drink list (I object to the phrase Black List). I've felt this solution is needed for Drunk Driving, drunk slobs in public and so on. I'd really like lots of criminal offences to have a 'suspension of legal drinking' privileges. A little more work for the booze sellers and servers but it should eventually lower their own liability insurance. The industry won't be happy as they require alcoholics to maintain their business model. All their advertising uses subliminal messaging to develop or encourage dependence. I am ever thankful for the classes I had to sit through in college as penance for my one substance involved academic incident. 1987 they had a great presentation on how booze and tobacco are both targeted towards the dependents and to cultivate new abusers. I never liked how they only take the driving privileges away rather than the drinking part, which might better punish alcoholics.

4. They can get people to buy alcohol for them if their privilege is yanked but they will have to go hat in hand

5. It would then be an additional offence if arrested drunk for any reason

I'm not expecting them to detox just force them inside and maybe give them some time to reflect on their behavior.

3. Yep, unfortunately some people can't control once the booze hits

Not everyone should drink, it is hard for someone who maintains control mostly no matter how drunk to understand someone else may get basically crazy with much less.
