Hundreds rally outside W.Va. State Capitol

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Hundreds of players, coaches and parents are rallying outside of the State Capitol in West Virginia Monday morning.

It’s a protest on the color-coded system for schools.

They are saying they want their kids back in sports and back in the classroom as soon as possible.

We have a crew at the scene.

At least 1 new coronavirus death and 178 new cases were reported in West Virginia on Sept. 13. Over the past week, there have been an average of 184 cases per day, an increase of 54 percent from the average two weeks earlier.

As of Monday evening, there have been at least 12,820 cases and 275 deaths in West Virginia since the beginning of the pandemic, according to a New York Times database...

2. A bunch of southern WV counties just went orange this week.

That means students are not allowed to go to classrooms. They all do virtual learning from home. The folks were at the capitol to shit bricks because their children can't play sports. Because as we all know, grade school sports is the most important thing in the world.

Looks like grade school sports are more important than lives. I assure you, the changed counties were well represented at the protest. I'm glad my granddaughter is doing virtual learning.
