Former prime minister John Howard has lent his support to a book aimed at school children which argues the theory of human-induced global warming is a scam.
Last night, the former prime minister launched the publication, the latest from controversial geologist Professor Ian Plimer.
The book, called How to Get Expelled From School, rejects the predominant scientific opinion on climate change.
The book is billed as "an anti-global warmist manual for the younger reader".

Shows that his 2007 pre-election promise to act on climate change was a non-core promise and would have been ditched as soon as he won. I try not to hate people, but for this little twerp, I make an exception.

btw, he deserves all the hate and contempt he gets. He did so much damage to this country while he was PM...

(2,169 posts)with a listing of all the climate change deniers. The site should be able to accept links,
posted by readers/subscribers, to the various places they have spoken about the subject.
Hopefully it would be a permanent record.
We all know that in a couple of years they (the deniers) will be claiming to be mis-quoted, and they were really saying the opposite.
I think Malcolm Turnbull would be a big poster.

[It was] predicated on the rest of the world moving in the same direction and also predicated on a structure that would preserve the international competitiveness of those industries that gave our country a competitive trade advantage, it could do no harm."
He said in a speech to the Melbourne Press Club in July 2007
Howard said: Being among the first movers on carbon trading in this region will bring new opportunities and we intend to grasp them. The Government will examine how to ensure that Australia becomes a carbon trading hub in the Asia-Pacific region. Of course, an emissions trading scheme is only one part of a comprehensive long-term climate change policy framework. There is no magic green bullet. Low-carbon technologies remain the key to an effective response that minimises the costs of limiting emissions.

A blatant lie, or in Howard speak a non core promise.

(25 posts)The science of AGW makes clear what action needs to be taken to prevent dangerous AGW. This means less than 350ppm of atm co2. I dont see this in ALP's platform (nor of any govt in the world for that matter).
