I bought Amdro, followed directions for outside use, plus I picked up a product for inside the house. It is called 'TERRO" Liquid ant baits.
Tiny little plastic packets, just slit the marked spot and put in likely ant spots.
Between both products, I have not seen an ant since I applied the stuff.
The sales clerk at HD suggested the TERRO, said they can't keep it on the shelf. So simple to use. I figure I am now safe inside and outside.

4. I am glad that you found something that works.

Amdro is really dangerous poison to people, pets, and wildlife. Read the label and you will see that it cannot be used around food crops or where anything living will come in contact with it except ants. Rather hard to do.

Terro is effective, but if you read the ingredients, the active ingredient is just Borax. I have used Terro in the past, but it only works for sweet-loving ants (like those big black ants that I get here). (And Amdro works on oil-loving ants.) I get the same results as I do with Terro when I use Borax mixed in sugar water or honey, at a much lower cost.

It really works and is very economical. Just wanted to share my results with what I have been using and how effective it is.

6. Hedge Apples (Osage Orange) for Ant Control

Go out in the woods and gather up hedge apples and place them around in your basement or crawl space.
There are no chemicals involved so I guess it's a green tip. I've heard crab apples work too. It's worth a try!
