Change of email address

I switched from comcrap to att.net for email a few months ago.
Itunes and my macbook still have me under the old email address. What is the most pain free way to tell Apple that I have a new address? (Such that I dont have problem making purchases and doing updates etc.)

You can change your email address at that link, but your Apple ID will still be the same. NYC Liberal Dec 2011 #5

I went in the opposit direction, and there is no good way. I'm still trying to get updates on the old address. It's a disaster.

I did not try doing it through itunes,
I just got this feeling that it would not be a global solution

Thanks

So you'd login using username@comcast.net and your password.

But any emails would go to your updated @att.net email.
