Related: About this forumWWDC 2012 = “Fuck you, Google”
Starting with the opening gag with Siri doing stand-up comedy and continuing through to Apples new maps and Siris new features, there was an unmistakeable Fuck you, Google undertone to the whole keynote. Apple is forcing Google out of iOS. Even the Facebook integration feels like a the enemy of my enemy is my friend alliance.Ive said it before and will say it again: Google made a mistake by deciding to oppose rather than ally with Apple on mobile.

Additionally, Apple integrated several 'lesser' media and social 'share' functions in Mountain Lion and iOS 6, with not a sign of Google properties.
Good.

(62,683 posts)1. Oh - is that the reason for the d-i-v-o-r-c-e? I wasn't aware that Google passed on partnering
with Apple. Folly.
I'm watching the keynote now, and WOW! I imagine "the competitors" are looking at it and scrambling their engineers and designers -- and going out and getting drunk. You just can't out-think Apple.

(51,122 posts)2. Google CEO Eric Schmidt sat on the Apple board and outright stole from Apple.
Rather than working with them and making everyone richer.
Jobs tossed his ass out and pretty much swore revenge.
One good thing is although Schmidt had inside info on the iPhone before its release, Jobs kept the iPad a total secret from him. Which is why the iPad dominates the 'tablet' market.
