3. Someone here on DU told me how to do the same thing for iPhone, but it was

a few years ago now. I don't remember how I did it, either, but it was not readily available. I remember I had to do something special, yet not difficult to make my own launcher. Good news is it works like a charm. I wish you luck. Surely someone will chime in.

5. No such "DU App" exists, for Android or iOS. However, as was pointed out downthread,

You can bookmark DU and add it to your launcher screen very easily. Given that a lot of "apps" for websites (e.g. CNN, IMDB, Amazon) are nothing more than frontends to their mobile sites anyway, it's as good a solution as anything else.
