(26,877 posts)Maternally or Paternally? Their mother, Neilia Hunter Biden, was my second cousin. Her father's diner is still going strong here in Auburn:

(10,332 posts)..."broke my heart" prompted my reply, "Mine too" (meaning the heart), although we are all one big family... The service was very beautiful, especially Hunter Biden.

(9,688 posts)I've concluded that his specialness (and that of his family, including especially Beau) lies in the fact that he is attentive to and honors, and respects, every single person, and condescends to no one. Watching VP Biden greet every single mourner who came to the lying-in ceremony. . well, it was remarkable. This was not the fake smile and back-slap of the average "pol". This was real.
I deeply admire both the Obamas and the Bidens, and was especially moved by the real feeling I witnessed between them.
We are very, very lucky to have these men at the helm right now. And I'm so grateful for everything they've been able to achieve despite the traitorous Congress they've had to deal with.
