Warren DeMontague appreciation thread

I want to thank Warren for his (insert superlative term here) service as a host of the Men's group.

Funny, conscientious and smart, Warren is a main reason that DU does NOT suck.

I anticipate I'm sure I insist he'll continue posting, but time constraints require him to prioritize his attentions ("he's retiring to spend more time with his family" but not in a just-hiked-the-Appalachian-trail, kind of way )

Thank you. I've been doing it for about a year, figured there are probably some others here who could use a turn on the soapbox. I'm not going anywhere.

I do fully intend to Hike the Appalachian Trail, but Mark Sanford is not going to be involved.

I agree with Upton about Warren:

His wit and humor in pointing out the hypocrisy demonstrated by the usual suspects has had me laughing in agreement on numerous occasions.

Warren has made me laugh until my sides hurt, with tears in my eyes, while, at the same time, his point of view is gratifyingly based on good, solid common sense.

My brother-in-law from Georgia has spent many summers hiking the Appalachian trail, going all the way up to Maine. There are spots along the trail that offer various accommodations for hikers, including charging up iPads, phones, etc. I hope Warren will keep in touch along his trek. And please be mindful of the ticks along the way, Warren.

If they had only put one or two of the new elements in there it would have been groundbreaking; the fact that they ambitiously did everything they did with it; really an accomplishment.

...For some reason, those Elder Scrolls games sort of put me to sleep. I don't know why; I normally like that kind of stuff. But I only got a brief way into the last one and just sort of fizzled out... So I couldn't justify doing Skyrim until I get some traction on the other one.

I've heard it's cool, though.

Walk a long-ass way to a dungeon, kill a bunch of shit, find "boss" of dungeon, die a few times, finally kill him, fast travel back to town.. rinse, repeat... but... the character creation/skills allotment/leveling is fucking amazing, and, those games completely spoiled me for any other RPG games with their openness. It used to drive me crazy, playing other games, when there was this entire world, beautifully rendered, but nope.. you can't go into that building, or nope.. can't get off of this little path...

Probably what I need for them is more time. But then that applies to pretty much everything.

I'm lucky if I can finagle 20 minutes on the Xbox a week, after everything else. And of course my Wife has dibbs on the TV for Call the Midwife or whatever PBS drama involving witty banter and nattering old british ladies is on, this week.
