15. From $3.40 to $4.40 around Chapel Hill

Most of the stations in Chapel Hill itself have been very slow at dropping prices the last few weeks. Probably trying to gouge all the new students and parents coming into town. A few miles away and you find $3.40-3.50. $3.20 nearer the coast.

$3.19 Albuquerque. Probably another dime a gallon outside the cities, along the interstates.

so if the price continues to fall, we'll get under $3.00 pretty soon.

California is still getting clobbered with a lot of places near $5.00/gallon.

First, how much it costs to transport gasoline into an area, and second, the amount of taxes a state has put onto it.
