California Community Schools

California is Transforming Education Through Community Schools

* California is investing $4.1 billion to make one out of every three schools a community school

* Community schools get families the resources and support they need to thrive, like health care and mental health and social services – everything from counseling to nutrition programs to tutoring

* Supporting students outside of the classroom helps them succeed inside the classroom

There's more at the link. I've seen a fair amount of advertising for Community Schools on MSNBC. I was fearful it was part of a voucher program or private school. But it comes from the government. Most relieved as it sounds like a step in the right direction. Ages ago prop 13 practically destroyed our public schools. And nobody seemed to care. They more than care. They're taking action.

That's a big problem with the culture wars. Actually it's a full frontal attack on culture. Women's rights stricken, gay rights stricken, free speech, stricken.

Good luck with your schools.

like Support Our Schools in Sarasota, but the legislature right now is on the side of the privatizers who want to bankrupt public schools and take the tax dollars. And the distractions of the 'war on woke' baloney. It's a struggle to stay here--CA and Newsome are a light in the darkness for the dems here.

noticed that the Teachers' Union supports them and that makes a world of difference. These are not the "charter schools" of yester-year. Thank Dog!!!!! Yeah, CTA!!!
