(2,809 posts)Shining so triumphantly over the mountains of frustrated pontifications from the self-righteous charlatans. Albeit we're far from equality and freedom from violence from the homophobes, this triumph over ignorance aids in vindicating so much oppression, and admittedly makes me a bit jealous of the younger LGBT folks who benefit.
Furthermore, this is a desperately requisite LGBTQ self-esteem booster shot, a medicinal "YES WE CAN" pill that further than a decade ago held us so firmly in second-class citizenry that the prevalent attitude of aloof, wreckless and self-degrading behaviors among many LGBT folks seems a softer, friendlier place. Certainly one that largely can dismiss the confabulatory tyranny of the past as antediluvian, making strides in some of the most backwards of enclaves.
Making out the magnanimous foolishness of the likes of Pat Robertson blaming everything from tornadoes to COVID on our rights all that more obvious is almost reward enough to be therapeutic. I state this as witness and near victim of the long arm of Westboro's efforts to exterminate "fags". Such groups of idiots have far more karmic lives to live than they'll ever see coming.
