According to this Florida forced birth* activist, birth control doesn't prevent abortions.

He claims it causes them.

Andrew Shirvell, executive director of Florida Voice for the Unborn, testified on Monday in favor of a proposed 15-week abortion ban by saying that birth control often fails, which results in people seeking abortions, or in his words: “The contraceptive mentality is what fuels the bloodthirsty abortion industry in our country.”

*I refuse to use the term pro-life, because I consider it dishonest and inaccurate, and because it implies that anyone who supports access to safe, legal abortion is "pro-death," which is patently ludicrous.

Like Andrew Shirvell's daddy should have done.

What an asshole. He probably wants to form a federal pregnancy police to monitor miscarriages and have OBGYNs report every month to him. That way he can make sure there's no interference with God's will in forcing a woman to pop out an unwanted baby.
