What can we do as a group about the Legistative Mandated Rape of Abortion Seekers

Yesterday the Va House passed a bill mandating transvaginal ultrasounds for anyone seeking an Abortion in that state. The governor has already stated he would sign it.

In addition the TX law will go into effect today as the 5th Circuit Court appealed CRR's request for a re hearing was denied.

I would say, the best thing we could do is, follow the letter of the law. WingDinger Feb 2012 #9

They don't care...if you're a woman you don't count...the Republicans are the pro-rape, pro-incest, anti woman party...and those women who support them might as well go around wearing a Burka...it'll make them easier to identify.

Vote in your local, state, and federal elections. Too many women I know don't pay any attention to elections. They don't know who is their mayor, who are their representatives to Congress or the state legislature. This is allowing the right-wing Republicans to take over.

We need to raise consciousness about the need to make informed votes.

So I thought I'd share it here:

I'm hoping the in-fighting here in this forum ends soon. I would like to see a good discussion on this because for these people to be able to just speak the kind of scary crazy talk like they are, is dangerous. You say the absurd enough times, it almost becomes the norm - and that is dangerous.

Find a very strong woman, that has been raped and impregnated. FILM her further abuse, before getting an abortion. Show the humiliation, the utter shaming they are trying to force. the resistance of doctors to follow the law. That image would be powerful.
