HHS Launches COVID-19 Uninsured Program Portal

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), launched a new COVID-19 Uninsured Program Portal, allowing health care providers who have conducted COVID-19 testing or provided treatment for uninsured COVID-19 individuals on or after February 4, 2020 to submit claims for reimbursement. Providers can access the portal at COVIDUninsuredClaim.HRSA.gov.

Are we still going to be in danger of losing our homes and everything we own because of huge bills we are expected to pay with no money to pay it? I mean, if providers use this program, can they still turn around and charge uninsured patients the full bill?

I don't trust my local hospital. It's a death station during easier times. Plus, random medical personnel will walk by and sign their name to your chart and charge you. I had an anesthesiologist from Pinehurst, who didn't even see me, do anything to me, and wasn't even needed for the procedure do that to me once, then work out a payment deal, then turn me over to a collection agency anyhow, even though I paid on time every time.

Every time I go to my doctor, I get a bill from some place in another area of NC wanting double the bill, saying I still owe even though I paid in the office.

A lot of off stuff happens in any medical place near me. That is why I am asking.
