A gratitude journal, one of those small 3x4 books with the speckled covers, once/twice a day, I'll write out something I'm feeling grateful for.
Bitching & moaning is easy, saying thank you is not a natural thought for me.

(1,537 posts)Showing up is hard. Walking in the door is hard. Gratitude is a common theme. My fave person at the meeting is everyone.

(34,265 posts)As a recovering Catholic, Lent is a period of self reflection and reviews of my state at the moment I wrote it, in an effort to grow closer to the Goddess/Higher Power/God/Great Spirit/however you define your terms. In writing it out, I have a record of my thoughts, needs, wishes at that time. For me, I found it useful in writing out my next 4th Step.
