update on my wife.

on Thursday last we visited the oncologist and he came in and asked if we wanted the good news or the good news.

He was very thrilled to tell her that her c t scans and mris showed no sign of any cancer and that she would only see him every three months from here on out unless something drastic happens.

It didn't sink in until today.

Wow, miracles do happen. I guess prayer does work. I'm elated and worried but I'll take the elation and leave the worries somewhere else.

All I know is she has another shot at life. another shot at a good life.

to all of you, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR JUST BEING HERE.

But one word of caution ... Remain Vigilant!

Go with your gut. If your wife is ever experiencing even mild symptoms or you feel it is too long between tests or office visits then approach her about another one. Each cancer is different as well as the tests that are needed, but we waited too long and the docs did as well. I was so tired of being a pain in the butt that I did not push the issue. There might have been another procedure in my husband's case if we had caught it sooner, a DLI, but by the time they did another test his immune system was only 60% donor and too late for a DLI. Thankfully he was wel past his first allogeneic transplant that they could offer him another.

Celebrate!!! That is great news, but keep your eyes open and ask for another test if unsure.
