I need help from someone in Brooklyn, N.Y.

If you are close to or familiar with the Greenwood Cemetery, I need the burial records of two people.

My great grandmother was born in the 1850's and orphaned by age 3. Amazingly enough she must have been told by the orphanage who her parents were and I think I have found them at Greenwood.

I will repay the favor or pay it forward by research within a 100 miles of Helena, MT.

I work in Brooklyn but the cemetery is way out of my way.
Have you exhausted online records? Here is a link to the cemetery's website and the page where you can do a search, https://www.green-wood.com/2010/burial-search/

Or are the records you are looking for too old to be included in the online search?

Stay in touch and let me know if you ever get the records. If you don't, I might make my way over there late summer or so.

The reply just gave me the location of the graves and no comment on any burial documents. I sent $30 for their research time with a promise to sent more if needed. I'm sure they are busy with requests. I just don't know if I could ever make the trip to do the research myself. Do they even allow people access to the records?

The website said this:

Please note that this database of those interred at Green-Wood is not complete; some names, particularly of those interred in the earliest years of the cemetery, may be missing from it. We do have complete records at the cemetery, so please contact us if you need further assistance.

It sounds like you contacted them but did not ask that follow up question. Maybe you can try them again.

Now, I need burial documents, if there are any, to prove I have the correct people.

Basically I'm glad I could even find names that were passed down by my great grandmother. Their dates of death match up with her story to make her an orphan by age 3. It's just too close of a match to not follow the search to the end.
