On this day, October 21, 1972, Spiro Agnew and "Deep Throat" both had something to say about Watergate.

I know that I have a duplicate tweet for the last quote, but I don't have access to Twitter anymore. Until then, I can't make a correction.

At a press conference in Chicago, Spiro Agnew denounces the Washington Post for their coverage of Watergate. When asked if he's bothered by the problems that have arisen from Watergate, Agnew says that since there is no White House connection, he is not bothered at all.

Woodward and Felt meet at the parking garage where Woodward pushes for confirmation on the White House official that has access to the secret cash fund.

Felt refuses to confirm if Haldeman is the final person that had access to the cash fund. Felt says that his failing to warn Woodward off a bad story "would be a misconception of our friendship." Still, Felt tells Woodward to get the confirmation on Haldeman that's out there.

Woodward meets with Felt/Deep Throat and says they are running a story naming Haldeman is as the fifth person controlling the secret fund. He tries to get Felt/Deep Throat to confirm the story, but he refuses. Felt does say he’ll keep the reporters out of trouble which Woodward reads as a confirmation, but Felt/Deep Throat says he is not obligated to warn them off any inaccurate stories.
