Related: About this forumEYE IN THE SKY WATCHIN OVER YOU!!
Our government, which is supposedly all about what "We The People" want, is set to launch thousands of drones airborne over the friendly skies of the United States of America all in the name of security.
Our security is being whittled away by the very people we sent to office to be our guardians in government.
These people are against the freedoms we love and the security we love.
Facist America is not too far off, if not already here.
How long until the jack booted thugs go marching down Main Street?
I am not paranoid. I am not a conspiracy theorist. I am an American citizen who tells it like it is.

(50,130 posts)Conservatives used to be constitutionalists, and protectors of civil liberties.
When?
During the slave trade?
During the civil rights marches?
During the war protests? (feel free to pick a war, any war)
During the McCarthy era?
Name me a subject, decade, era, whatever that conservatives have been for any civil rights (for all) other than gun rights.

(1,273 posts)I think there are really two spectrums of political thought. There's the liberal-conservative continuum, and there's also the libertarian-statist continuum. Whether a conservative (or a liberal for that matter) objects to intrusive government depends on whether they're from the statist end of their side.

Thomas Jefferson who said "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered"
The American people have been betrayed by our so called leaders. We have a byzantine legal system whereby only the 1% that can afford to pay an expensive lawyer can even get legal representation that is competent. I have to ask questions online to get pathetic free legal advice
The banks create money out of thin air and lend it to the American people at an interest rate. This is crazy. No wonder our children are saddled with student loan debt which now tops 1 Trillion dollars and home-owners are buried in mortgage debt. that is upside down compared to the value of their homes.
