Is it beneficial that more gun control did not pass? Imagine lists of gun owners and what they have in Trump's hands...

1. Yeah, hats off to the pro-gun movement, for preventing a fascist takeover of this country.

But aren't the pro-gun folks the fascists?

3. Sooner or later we may find that our government has been taken over ...

and we no longer live in a representative democracy or a constitutional republic but instead are ruled by a dictator or tyrant or an oppressive oligarchy with a puppet president.

At that point a civil uprising might be worth considering. If a nonviolent uprising proved ineffective there might be no other choice but a violent revolution. I'm not saying that a violent revolution would have much chance of success but it would have a far better chance if the citizens were armed. Much would depend on which side the military would support.

Realize that I am not saying that we are anywhere near that point today. In my opinion we will survive a Trump presidency although it might prove a bumpy ride. Still the fact that Trump was able to win despite his arrogant and obnoxious personality shows that even in our nation change can happen rapidly.

I was referring to those that have the power having all the ownership records in their hands, and misusing that info for nefarious purposes.

As a practical matter, if a gun confiscation roundup were to occur, the government would be prepared by a few algorithms which would i.d. most gun-owners. Then the question would be: How many/what type do you keep "off book." By that time, civilian governance would be off book.
