(7,962 posts)Why not sue the NRA and the gun stores? If the hotel is culpable then so will be owners of every big building a mass shooter can get a rifle nest in. Could it be because MGM et al have deep pockets?
Always Right
(84 posts)As most lawsuits are about money, of course MGM got sued because they are the deep pockets here. Also, they likely have some sort of insurance and often insurance pays out quickly to avoid being sued by their insured for "bad faith".
I predict a quick sealed out of court settlement from MGM.
True, there are lawsuits to make a point and those would have been against the NRA and a gun store.

(52,340 posts)They are filthy rich and can afford it even more than MGM, or better yet sue all of them. They are all guilty to a degree. Haven't people sued the NRA before? Every single victim should sue for as much as possible! Too bad they can't sue the GOP and any rep who has supported the NRA.
Always Right
(84 posts)A quick google search shows the NRA with revenue of 163 million while MGM has revenue of 9.8 billion making MGM the deep pocket by a factor of over 50 so I dispute your assertion that the NRA can afford it more than MGM.
If someone were to sue the GOP, the NRA an any rep who supported the NRA, what cause of action would you allege?
Do you really want to open up the can of worms where a legislator can be sued by someone affected by their votes? Wouldn't that mean lawmakers on both sides of the isle would always be getting sued by someone regardless which way they voted? Who would want to be a lawmaker if that was allowed?
