I am half way through "The Partly Cloudy Patriot" , A collection of essays. She is funny , smart and well informed. Next is "Assassination Vacation" a learned , engagingly discursive, funny , sometimes even jolly ramble--literally--through the landscape of American presidential assassinations,


at least according to the book cover .

She has been on The Daily Show, where she proved to behe was charming and smart.

1. I've read "Unfamiliar Fishes", her account of the annexation of Hawaii by the U. S.

I knew we'd done all kinds of bad stuff en route from the East Coast to the West Coast but I'd never really thought about Hawaii. The book is a case study of how imperialism works.

"Take The Cannoli" is just as awesome!

Her books with multiple essays are best, IMO. She can get lost in her books that address a single topic of sorts. Still, even those are very entertaining and educational.
