my sister is looking at a 2013 Subaru Forrester. 35,600 miles
they want $1300 for a 7 year 100K deal - I assume that is drive train only?

dealers for the best price as long as you buy it before the car hits 36,000 miles.

1- Read ALL of the fine print, so you won't be screwed.
2- It's an insurance policy that probably requires you to spend your OWN money first and then be reimbursed.
3- You have to keep excellent records of your maintenance and repairs and keep your receipts.
4- I'd use it religiously as much as humanly possible.
I bought one years ago and never used it. I was lucky but then again I wasted my money. Caveat emptor.

(55,739 posts)4. yeah, that is how I am about most extra-cost warranties
but she gets lightheaded and her eyes glaze over when I even mention checking her own oil... (though to be fair, being the grandaughter and sister of ranchers, she can change a tire LOL)
