(1,688 posts)Almost all the games are played in the US. Most players on the 'national' teams are actually US based. It's a spinoff of American Major League Baseball designed to build revenue before the real season starts. I'm happy for baseball junkies though. I hope the final is a good game.

Even hockey is more loaded with North Americans.
In this tournament, every team has MLB players, most of them stars.
So yes, I think this is a world affair.
If the Olympics are in London, is it less a worldwide affair?

(70,287 posts)...with teammates facing each other, (arguably the 2 best players in all of baseball), representing countries with the highest level leagues that exist.
