i quit watching all sports in the 80s or early 90s, but back in the day i did love baseball.

my greatest sport moment that I saw live (on TV) was this:



grew up going to Dodger games. I can get chills to this day.

Today, the catcher hands it to the umpire, and a new ball is put in play.

Any baseball sages know when this started?

...it was so early in the season. Like everyone here, I've seen the replay a hundred times. But, i forgot it was in early April.
According to this, it was his first swing of the season.
