HORNS OF HELL!!

Last edited Thu Jan 30, 2014, 03:47 PM - Edit history (1)

Got involved in a on line fantasy game called Eternity of Ephrya, from Tynon.com. Its actually very fun, and I have reached level 40 with the rank of Master Sergeant. And,
best of all... I GOT to ride a Horse!

I am working on being a Master Chief... I have the highest points in my guild. I had no choice about being a blonde. When I joined they didn't say about changing your character, but its too late...besides...I always heard Blondes have more fun. True ne?

This is how I would have done it:

YAY! I MADE IT! (pHEW!)

I know...little things entertain me

Yes, He has hella points, but everyone works together to banish him. You get wiped out, only to come back and fight again, and again. Its like Reincarnation.. or something! Everyone fights him and everyone gets goodies...especially the one who hits the final blow...Bonus stuffs!!

This happens every day at 3pm. There are other events like this as well, including Guild WarFare and this thing called..Ragnarok where you have single combat against other players for goodies..and there are no losers... even losers get goodies, though not as much as the winners, obviously.

When you only score 5 diamonds and no matter what you do, you can not add anything to make your avatar any more powerful. You can spend coins, credits, or use up all your stamina and no matter what you do, the only thing you can do is sit back and wait for time to bring you back up to speed. Of course this means, all the people you have defeated before hand, pass you by and of course, the next time they see you, they are kicking your butt .. yeah it happens, if you don't shell out the cash like some people do. I can not afford to do anything but let time heal all wounds.

I managed to get ten diamonds but spent them rather quickly on upgrading my avatars equipment. As you can see, the power level rose a little bit, and not much further. I used up all my stamina trying to gather items to create a new device, but in doing so, means I have to wait till the Stamina builds back up to a decent level. Basically I am dead in the water..

Notice all the ships that are taken up, the users, all have Left posts on the ships. That means there are few Right posts available. The website randomly hands out 1/2 a map. You will either get a left side or a Right side. All these ships have people who have the left side, and no one seems to have been given the Right side of the map.. When the two halves come together, you get to sail. I have a Left side of the map too, but am smart enough, not to park on those ships, as my power level is not that great, and someone with a larger power level, could steal my map. Those parked there, don't worry about that sort of thing, because they are mostly too powerful for anyone to challenge.

I am doing better, today..but ran my stamina down to nothing. It will take a full day to regenerate, and the mean time, I can do some events but not others. I have a chance, once I have sufficiently regenerated to grab a next level item, that will boost my power considerably, once I have it in place.

Unlocking runes as you might guess costs more and more as you proceed. Once you unlock those spaces, its time to try and obtain some runes to place there. All of it is a crap shoot basically. Its like gambling that you will get a great one.. or a pathetic one. The smaller runes can be combined to make a rune with more power. The best thing is to grab as many small runes as you can, and add them to the more substantial runes bringing up their level to the highest they can go, which I believe is level 8. Obviously the more powerful runes you have, the better off you will be in one on one battles, or fights against creatures like BAAL mentioned above.

Thought I better add this before it changes..Even I find it hard to believe that I ranked so well in the Arena.

That will probably change soon. There is always someone stronger that comes along and knocks you out of your place.

22. This is my first on line game...
Tue Feb 18, 2014, 03:01 PM
Feb 2014

I am normally not a gamer, but this game sucks you in and grabs on to you, and you want to play, just to see what you can do. You will come across lots of barriers, but it makes you search for answers and find solutions. Its more than just a battle game..its a strategy game. Like Chess, there are formations, as you gain new players and new equipment.

When you go into battle, you don't chose how you will fight, in the normal game sense. But you set it up ahead of time. Each character has different approaches to battle. Each an expert in that approach. Its figuring out how you will place those characters, and in what order they will hit or be struck. I have five on my team now...

As you can see there is a sixth one off to the side. I can only have five players at a time, until I reach a certain level that allows me to have six. But... you can move players in and out at your choosing. Some are more powerful than others. Right now, the best combination I have is using
Shayd, Dawnbringer and Calvin. Note, to say, You can not replace, another character with your own. My Yuiyoshida has to stay there no matter what. She could be the lowest power or the highest power, so long as she is there. It would be great if I made her really powerful, but those who need the items for a strong power up should get them first, especially if they are strong to begin with.

Here you can see how the set up works. I am going up against someone in the Arena, a one on one situation. (Other battles can be teamwork, your guild and other guilds against someone like Baal, for example.) As you win you move up in the rankings. Of course if you lose you drop down. I mentioned in an earlier post that I had reached #26 and since that time, have been knocked back to #34th, which is not bad, its in the top 50 and there are thousands of players.

23. So where do you get these coins, credits, etc.
Tue Feb 18, 2014, 03:49 PM
Feb 2014

This is called the fair. The cool thing is, with gold coins, you can get them normally every minute, as you just click for coins and they rain down on you. But if you need a lot of coins, or need to buy credits, than you need the FAIR. The fair is where you can purchase coins, credits or even stones or gems to power your gear. (Note, to purchase gear itself is interesting. You can only purchase first level items. If you need a next generation item, than you will have to collect stuff in your storage, which I mentioned in a previous post, to upgrade your gear.) The more powerful the gem (Gems come in different levels of course) the more powerful your gear.

Don't be fooled in thinking that power is what you totally need in this game! Power is good to have but having your characters in a certain formation can make all the difference in the world. There are so many different aspects to this game. Finding the right member for your team for (Members are earned..or in some cases obtained by luck, in a draw a card program.) Example. Its good to know which characters are good and which are better. For that..

You can see that here:
https://sites.google.com/site/tynonfansite/heroes-and-formation

That page has helped me figure out a lot of advantages to the game. The forum is available as well but I have found it really was not all that helpful.
http://bbs.tynon.com/forum.php

For a first time gamer, It can be quite baffling. When I first started, the people in my guild amounted to three of us. One who owned the guild was never there. The other person was there but never talked, nor would answer questions. Asking people in the game for help, is difficult unless you move to a brand new guild. Once you quit your guild, you have a 24 hour cool down period before you can choose a new guild, and then... then they have to decide if you are worthy. If you mess around, and are not in the gamer spirit, they might tell you to try another guild. When I quit my first guild (Sheef) I knew I wanted to go to Sword.Art because I loved the name, and they were a top ranking guild. I was lucky they allowed me to join and my stats were fair. I met their requirements, and I was a go getter. I also brought my own team spirit to the guild... and that was appreciated as well. Once in the guild, you can learn from those better than you. It was only later, that I found material on my own, and even conveyed that to my team mates. When you have people in your guild who are in the top ten of all players, playing for your guild, you can learn from the best. Because of them, I rose up to be 12th in my guild. (We have 39 members presently).

And our guild Sword.Art is presently ranked Third. When I joined it was number one, but has dropped recently. Still, being third is pretty good when there are hundreds of guilds..

24. Its rather amusing in that ...
Sat Feb 22, 2014, 05:42 AM
Feb 2014

In the game, it allows for you to steal the treasure map from various players who are lower rank or have less power than you do, especially if they park themselves on a ship. So the other day, after being sunk, I was so mad, I wanted to steal a map, and the perfect person was waiting on their ship, ready to be plucked like a chicken, and so I got away with it, stole their map! With it I was able to sail with someone who was way stronger than most of the players...and we got the treasure with out much fuss.

But now, for three days, this guy has been trying to get revenge on me, by battling me when He could. The problem is, I keep winning, and he keeps losing Reputations and coins to me for losing. He is so frustrated, he has tried to get his friends to defeat me as well.. and for someone who is, as of today, ranking 26th in the Arena, I have been lucky to hold off his friends as well...so they have lost Reputations and coins to me as well.

I have hit 90,000 plus reputations now, and at 100,000 Reputations I am allowed to advance in rank to Knight-Captain. (The Highest rank in the Relm right now belong to three people...and that rank is Major.) More so, at level 65 I am looking forward to hitting level 70, five levels away. This will be a tremendous boost for me, getting 70 diamonds, a few major gems for equipment, plus another Leader card, which will boost me to Saint II level in power.

As you can see, Stars are important too. But they are a gamble. Right now I have a 32% chance of getting one. For my character, it would require four star medals to get ONE star. But its random. If I press the Upgrade two things can happen. Either I get my star...or I have wasted four medals.. and not only not get the star, but lose an additional one as well. I am not a huge favor of the star medals, unless I happen to win a whole bunch. The other day I won 15 of them, so I didn't mind trying to apply them to the characters who had the best chances of winning a star. Still its random, and even if you have a 100% chance of winning, it doesn't always happen. (maybe it should be 99.9% chance)

The Hero's block breaks down my stats as of this time as well. I have five stars, and one Saint designation. If I get my next card at level 70 I could go up... again, its randomly possible the card might fail..and I don't get that either. The equipment is there for you to see.. The Helmet, The Sword, The cloak, the Spirit piece and the magical Relic. All of these require gems, the larger the better. All of them require boosting points. When you first buy the first level items, ten points is all they can be leveled up to. But the second generation set, will have a higher level, as much as 20 points or perhaps higher. These second generation items have to be earned by "farming" some of the products you saw in another post, which is planted in the bank. Certain combinations of these items (For example; 20/20 Meteorites 40/40 Lava rocks and 30/30 rose plants) will combine together to produce, one assumes magically ..or by Alchemy into a finely honed broadsword to be used by your favorite or most powerful hero.

All of these things add up, plus your power..to give your team to hopefully win a few one on one or battles against certain bosses (Like BAAL) to move you up in stature.

25. More about Formations....

Feb 2014

Last edited Sun Feb 23, 2014, 04:01 AM - Edit history (2)

Most of what I learned about Formations, I found here;
https://sites.google.com/site/tynonfansite/formations

Two of the most important formations are Player vs Player and the Events battles against BAAL and Cerberus. I have two examples which I took from the above webite.

This formation is for player vs player. It seems to work the best of the two examples provided at the website. Here at the top row, I have my top three champions. Left to Right: Shayd, Cianna and Dawnbringer. Two rows down I have (left to right) Yui and Calvin. I mentioned before that Calvin is a kind of "tank" in that he can take a lot of hits...and provide time for the other champions to do their work against another player. My player (Yui) is next and will provide a small blow after the initial blows by my opposing opponent. Shayd is very last to survive and she is the strongest. As each champion is eliminated, Shayd stays on to provide that extra power at the end, and thus normally grants a win for my team, unless of course the opponent has greater power than my team. Things such as third level items can make a huge difference against 1st and 2nd level items.

Here it shows my team against an opponent in the Arena.

The next formation is for the Events battles, Player vs Baal and or Cerberus.

In this event, there is no way you are going to win against these two powerful opponents. But, you want your team to survive the blows as long as possible. The idea being that everyone who participates will continue striking the creature until they can on longer stand. Everyone contributes to the destruction of the challenging monster. Your team will fight, and be destroyed and then you will be ready to strike again, after a 20 to 30 second time period. (if you have diamonds to spend, you can regenerate right away...other wise you have to wait. and diamonds are expensive!)

In this break down I have (example taken from the above link) Shayd, Cianna, and Calvin on the top level. The second tier down is Dawnbringer and Yui. My character (Yui) will provide as a sacrifice to the creature, for after the first blow, She will be gone. Next to be hit will be the bottom level! Amazing that there is no one there, so it would be considered a miss. That means the creature has just wasted a vicious strike. Calvin will jump in next and get his shot at the creature. The creature will strike back again at the bottom level, no one is there, so its a miss. Followed by Cianna who will strike a blow. The creature will try again at the bottom level, and again, no one is there. A miss. Three wasted blows. Shayd will next strike and finally the creature will strike against Calvin. It will take a while before Calvin is completely gone. This circle will continue until only Shayd is left...and the creature will have wasted many shots, while my team has had solid blows against the creature.

Here you can see the lay out in action against Cerberus. Each guild will fight against the creature contributing to its demise. The last player to kill the creature, will win 10 thousand gold coins, which can be used for much needed gear to help one level up to a higher position. I should note that not only is this not an easy task, but some guilds (like Infectious) will take advantage of the situation, by striking players who are busy fighting the Creatures. In doing so, they are allowed to steal reputations which are used to go higher in rank. The other day, I was attacked and lost 20 reputations because I lost. However, after the battle I received over 140 Reputations for my efforts on the creature. Those who strike against other guilds during this event, usually have their ships sunk, while attempting to obtain more treasure. Its an on going war in some cases.

Sailing with one of the most powerful players in the Realm right now.. no one would dare try and sink us..they would lose!

26. SLASH AND GASH!
Tue Feb 25, 2014, 02:31 PM
Feb 2014

Just love this screen shot I took of Baal in the midst of fighting my team. Today I had great stats
for the first time and a long time.

I just picked up a level 3 helmet, and I need 10 diamonds to purchase a key to unlock the next space for the next gem, for more of a power boost. This should happen tonight after Guild Warefare. We are slated for a bout later with a guild that is mediocre at best. We should win this, but even if we don't I will still get that 2nd set of diamonds (5) to open that space.. I do have gems already specifically for that helmet.

I know this will improve my stats a bit more, once this is in place. After that I only have one more helmet to secure, so that the entire team of five, has them. Right now, I am in a waiting period..to see if I can collect more coins and credits. The next battle is at 3pm (its 11:29am as I write this.)Maybe by then I will have built up enough to purchase some more things I need to win.

27. Chips are important
Wed Feb 26, 2014, 05:48 AM
Feb 2014

As one can see, I have loaded up this Helmet with three Amethyst chips. When one first acquires a helmet, there is only one slot open. As one gets chips, one can start to fill those slots. The larger the chip the better. To open a second slot, will cost one Diamond. To open the third slot will cost 10 diamonds. If one is skilled enough, one can get 10 diamonds a day, or do what most people do, buy them! The fair.. is the best place to buy chips.

As you can see, in this photo, there is a small Amethyst chip available for 164322 gold coins. If one has that many, they can purchase that chip. Five of those chips, merged together can make one second level chip. Five of the second level chips, can merge into a third level chip. The higher the chip, the more powerful it will be, and add to one's power.

Last edited Thu Feb 27, 2014, 09:15 AM - Edit history (3)

As you can see, I have just advanced to Knight-Captain and while I am excited about that
what I am more excited about is reaching Level 70. Below you can see the thin blue line.

This line means, I am closing in on Level 67 which is not too far away from level 70. What is so special about level 70?

Well for starters 70 free diamonds. Those can go a long way if used correctly. Two major chips are included for powering up your gear. The Leader card will give me more power as well as I go from Saint I to Saint II.

Though I don't have any champions who are Saint II ..this one is Saint IV. You can see the break down of power included with that rank. All of this plus extra power boosts, will make the champion even stronger both in the arena and against predators like Baal and Cerberus.

Ragnarok is basically player verses player, with the idea you can boost up. With credits you can boost as high as 80% and with ten diamonds more boost to 100%. I was at 80% as I had no diamonds but I did rather well. The little glowly envelope will contain my Reputations, Contributions to my guild, Coins and credits, to build on. I am on even on the list to the right. That is for players who have won streaks. I haven't won any major streaks other than three in a row..but if I keep constantly winning, it helps..and my Reps grow so that I can get a better prize at the end. Not as big as those who have major streaks but, there are no real losers in this game. Even if you lose every bout.. you will win something.

This won't last long, but it will be nice to remember later!

Sat Mar 1, 2014, 06:16 AM
Mar 2014

I managed to bring my power levels up to 4,001,425 which seems incredible to me. In the Arena ranked 23, but only because one of the other players powered down for some strange reason. I assume maybe he is doing maintenance on his champions and will be back up in the top ten shortly. Our guild used to have many members in the top ten of the arena, but many have either left or gave up. I guess it comes down to..WHERE do you go, when you reach the highest levels in the game. One player told me, that's an easy answer; you simply start over with a new player in a new guild in a new Realm. To me, this was an unsatisfactory answer, as its been hard as hell to get to where I am, and I don't want to put myself though it again!

Here are the current players in the top ten. Two of them are my guild mates. It strange, cause some of the top players, are not even on that list...

As you can see for yourself.

Ranked 17th for the very first time..over all in the Arena.

Again this is Temporary... someone stronger always comes along and rips this spot out from under you. Its part of the game. Its still amazing to me that I have gotten this far. I also managed to get another Leader card.

Here is the results, as you can see...Boosted me up to Saint II. Skilled Defense and Dodge added. This will be of great use to me against One on One battles as well as the major Bosses like Baal and Cerberus.

That's a hallmark of Korean games, which I believe this is also.

Say hello to Giga Wing 2, a Korean space SHMUP which accommodates scores into the quintillions!!

However, I am still way out in left field as yet. Besides, it seems power, while great to have does not necessarily have to be needed if you have the right formation against your opponent. Your opponent could be above you by some 100 or more points, and if they are in a willy-nilly formation, they will get beat every time.

I soon began to realize as our guild was falling apart, that it was a place that not only allowed bullying but encouraged it. It was a basic money pit, where no matter what you did, you were throwing real dollars at it, and that is money I could have made use in better places. I love games, and may join another one soon, as a friend invited me to join Star Trek on line. Its more of what I like ..and this game has given me some experience with gaming in general.

I will miss some friends, but they were not really that, as No one really helped each other, but did manage to scream at others to get better. Its not the way to be.. I will miss it but I am finished with it, and I hope you find better games to play than this one!

You should have Joined the nobles they are very kind and they do not disrespect anyone. When i told them they were very sad when you left the game even though you are not in their guild. But i hope you have a Wonderful Time on Star Trek.

Joining the Nobles would have not been an answer for me. While I enjoyed Sword.Art they were not the real problem there. The fact that Tynon is a black dark money pit... a place to throw away your dollars, to the point of it becoming so addictive you could spend way more than what you intended. Some people have gambling addiction. I did not want that kind of addiction with this game, it was not that important that I had to set my alarm clock to various parts in the day to try and raise up to ..what? whats the final point you want to reach? The top ten? And then what? I saw people who reached the top 10 and quit because they were so bored with the game. SO..the final goal is to reach to the top and have a bit of fame, fortune and then lose it to boredom?

Not for me. I have not joined the Star Trek On line game, as it seems I need more room in my computer to be able to download it. Tynon never needed to be down load, and yet, despite the fact it was supposed to keep track of what you won and loss, there were some horrible flaws.. in such things like Runes, where you would use up coins, to the point the game would than throw out an error message, and the 10 K coins you just won, were suddenly taken away with only five coins remaining. Not only was it a money pit, but it actually stole your hard earned coins. Who wants that? The owners are the only ones who win in that game. They win with your hard earned spent money.
