Heading up the studio, which is called Airship Syndicate, is Joe Madureira--a veteran comic book artist renowned for his work at Marvel Comics--and Ryan Stefanelli. Together the two founded Vigil Games.
Their first project brings back Battle Chasers, a comic book series created by Madureira and published by WildStorm in 1998. The series developed a passionate following but has remained dormant since around 2001.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a video game set in the same universe as Madureira's series, and the studio is asking for $500,000 in crowdfunding on Kickstarter to make it.
As the game's developers note, while Darksiders drew heavy inspiration from The Legend of Zelda, Battle Chasers: Nightwar is inspired by Japanese role-playing games such as Final Fantasy.

(2,427 posts)I hope they can gather some support. I like to kick down to these projects but I've been burned by Kickstarts in the past. If they get some legs on this I will reconsider.
Thanks for posting!

(2,427 posts)Off topic - I find myself playing my PS4 much more than my custom built fast as fuggg PC.
I admit it has more to do with the fat Samsung in the living room but I think it's more than that. I can't put my finger on it. I abandoned my Witcher 1 and 2 PC saves for Witcher 3 on PS4 - something about the mindset?
I can't explain it, better graphics and system all around in the computer room - but I go to DU here, and when it's time to get my game on I hit the PS4.
Ruminating on it I think it's the fact that the next gen consoles set the benchmark until the next wave comes out. Sure the PC is capable of putting out some serious eye candy but the games are designed to shine on current gen platforms. The PC can bump resolution and frame rate but I feel like the chasm between the two platforms is closing. Or perhaps it's the fact I spend 8 hours a day on a keyboard doing BS data mining?
The whole game gets turned on it's head once the Oculus is out. Cheers!

(17,796 posts)along with the first of the stretch goals. With 28 days left, I have to wonder how many of those will fall?
And PS4 version will be included.
