Furious mum slams British Airways after daughter, 7, was ravaged by BED BUGS and left bleeding on flight
Although she discreetly flagged the issue to cabin crew, she said they were unable to re-seat her, her fiance Eric Neilson and her daughter Molly Reid, 7.
The incident occurred while the trio were aboard a BA flight departing Vancouver on Monday night.
"Once we got to the Airbnb that we were staying in, we went to sleep.
"My daughter had a few bites on her thighs but when she woke up she was covered, she had them all over. It was just so bad and awful, my daughter was bleeding.
A BA spokesman told The Sun: "We have said sorry to our customers for their experience.
"British Airways operates more than 280,000 flights every year, and reports of bed bugs on board are extremely rare.
"Nevertheless, we are vigilant and continually monitor our aircraft.
"The presence of bed bugs is an issue faced occasionally by hotels and airlines all over the world."

(779 posts)It is pretty certain the child brought them with her to the Airbnb place.
I wonder if the owner of the Airbnb could sue the family if that, indeed, happened.
Sad for all concerned!

Volunteers also run the clothes of these needy ones through a washing machine and dryer.
This very good-hearted man transported (involuntarily) the bedbugs to his very comfortable home.
As a result, he had to discard upholstered living room furniture and bedroom pieces.

(34,195 posts)When younger, I traveled from Maine to Florida to California and points in between,
never worrying much about staying overnight in hotels or motels.
Now I am afraid to, as even 5 star hotels can have bedbugs.
They can get into your clothing, suitcase, etc and go home with you.
I, rightly or wrongly, blame the banning of DDT for an increase in these and other critters.
A TV news story told how some college students' dorm got infested after they had eaten at a popular restaurant,
the bugs being in the leather bench seats at the place.
The exterminators used a spray called 'Bedlam Plus'.
