Project that aims to save ancient drawings in Wemyss Caves gets underway

3D lasers will be used to create images of the caves and they will then be put online a bid to preserve the Fife landmark's prized drawings, which have been sketched by man since the fifth century.

WORK has begun to save ancient cave drawings – described as the jewels in the crown of Scottish history – before the sea washes them away.

The walls of Wemyss Caves in Fife have been painted by man since the fifth century.
