O.K Guys I really need your good vibes this time!!!
The Flipping Historical district just gave us A seven day citation to trim our trees, and remove the heated wild Kitty houses off our porches. (we have a mommy with a litter of 3 week old kittens in one of them! And the nights are still dipping below 32 degrees here in Ohio)
And called my Trumpet vines "Noxious Weeds"
I'm going to call them tommorrow. Thats what I need the really good ASAH moJo for! To have this discussion come up with the most positive solutions for all concerned! @#$%^&*()_+! Though right now I would like to play the headless horseman looking for the inspector has my next victim!!!!!!@#$%^&*()_+

(23,424 posts)My daughter has become a big fan of flower essences (I think Rescue Remedy?). When she's really stressed and needs to be calmed, she swears they help.
Maybe we should buy a case of it and distribute all around?

(29,414 posts)Sounds about the same, if they're "dictating" their tastes onto your property. Will send the Light to all concerned that this is resolved peacefully and in your favor
I don't know anything about trumpet vine, so here's the search results on that on the excellent gardening site Dave's Garden: http://davesgarden.com/sitewidesearch.php?q=trumpet+vine

(4,225 posts)I just called the number on the citation and It is NOT the city! it is the neighborhood association! Now I have to stay inside and wait by the phone to deal with this! I could be outside doing my spring planting and clean up but..........@#$%^&*()_+
Thank you Kentauros.
kentauros
(29,414 posts)The "problems" they "cited" you are typical of self-appointed home-owner "nazis", making it their business to mind your business. I really wish these associations were against the law. Local and county deed restrictions are often plenty to keep a property in good order, as defined by health and safety rules. Anything else is aesthetics, and I never heard of anyone harmed by an "ugly" paint job
Good luck with these yahoos, and I'll send more good vibes your way!

(4,225 posts)Thank you again.

(4,225 posts)Now I wait for the call back! What a bloody unproductive waste of time!

(8,423 posts)Just kidding! Made you look ..made you look!
Other than my fantasy directive, perhaps a bit of meditation to clear the head and open up for all of the good vibes coming your way to solve the problem smoothly!
But, dang, I hear ya!
The audacity of those folks!
Do you have a basement or garage for da kittens?
I like how you brought up the headless horsemen idea,
I don't recommend that route, but it did help me fantasize about Johnny Depp for a moment or two!
Oh, I think you need to relax into a tub of lavendar bath salts, and calm yourself my dear. I will put the power of intention upon deflecting your neighborhood bitch patrol from their snooty-pants perch!
Howler
(4,225 posts)And I cannot have wild kitties mucking around in my basement that where my Tie dye Laboratory is! Muhahaha!!!
Thank you Kimmers!

(5,510 posts)Go to a well-known seed catalog & show them that they are SOLD as flowers. That should shut them up about that.
Why would they make you get rid of the "cat houses (LOL)"? This sounds like the mafia!
Sending good vibes for this to be resolved w/common sense & the best for ALL creatures involved......including Howler.

(4,225 posts)My Trumpet vine covers the whole front of the house! It just drips blooms from late may to October and draws the Hummingbirds to it!!!
Its really quite beautiful SouthernCrone! I'll take pictures and post them if I can get these Idgetts to back up some!

(75,480 posts)Find a horticulturist to verify that it is an ornamental plant sold in nurseries. Poor kitties. Can you move the kitty houses someplace that they won't be seen?
Sorry you are going through this on account of nosey busy bodies.

(713 posts)Can you move the kitty houses to the back of the house? What a pain! Hmmmm...perhaps now might be the time for one of your suffering bastards...lol. Sending good vibes your way!!! Remember to shield yourself before you have any dealings with those buttheads...I'm with ya all the way!
Howler
(4,225 posts)But the reason the cat houses are in the front is the bird feeders and My Puppies hang out in the backyard.
Thank you FindrsKeep! And I will be practicing those energy, anti blockages excercises and shielding throughout this little bit of HECTIC Crap.

(4,225 posts)But its set up in the optimum position now and has been this way for 15 years.????
I was told it might be my honeysuckle vines that I have several growing over my fence But Mine are Halls Honeysuckle and Mandarin,Pink Honeysuckle! Not The Japanese Honey suckle that Ohio is trying to rid itself of.
Thank you Cleita

(4,225 posts)They FINALLY called! At 7:00pm! I just got off the phone. The Downtown Inspector that is a head of these other inspectors is coming over for coffee tomorrow at 10:00am. He said he likes Cookies I told him we had cupcakes! He seemed pretty reasonable but we shall see.

(17,136 posts)I have been sending the Light your way, as I know what a pain authoritarians can be, we've had the city cite us before. It's never fun, it always reminds me of getting in trouble during class. So far this year we haven't had them noseying around here. Knock on wood.
Perhaps you could spike his coffee with some of those wild drinks you're always concocting That might make him even more agreeable.
I'll continue to shield you in a white light bubble so you will be protected. Good Luck and keep us posted.

On The Trumpet vine He said he will ask the cities Horticulturist about but I KNOW its an Ornamental vine and not a tree! So we are good there Too!!!!! BTW He said I had a lovely Garden!..... (5,198 posts)has a story on one of her audiobooks about her beloved trumpet vine, and how a neighbor cut it down while she was away. She replanted the roots close to her house and saved it. I love her stories-(-I listened to them at night when I was going through chemo to help my mind stay clear) --and her audio books, she has the most soothing voice.
Sending you some good Earth energy for all of your plants and your wild kitties.
Howler
(4,225 posts)You went through Chemo Felix Numinous? How are YOU feeling today!!!! is everything good?
Oh Clarissa Pinkola Estes sounds like a wrtter after my own heart!!!!

(5,198 posts)I think you would really enjoy CPE-- she's the one that wrote Women Who Run With the Wolves. Do you know about alibris? Here is a link, (there's a used copy for .99cents--I love this site!)

It's bugging me now which CD the trumpet vine story is on--you won't believe how much it applies to your situation--which I hope has been improving!! I have lived in one of those groomed neighborhoods, but luckily it started becoming so diverse that it actually become more free--in yard designs. Of course all of my gardens have ever been wild ones

(4,225 posts)I am so putting you into my crystal prayer grids!!!!1
I actually read Woman who run with Wolves in the Ninties!!!
I don't know what the verdit is on my trumpet vines and we have not totally hashed out the Cat Houses yet!But I'm optimistic.
If not sigh We may go to court! Bleck. If they force me into that I'm going to raise quite a ruckus ! They havent meant My Howler side YET!
I just try to remember that this is just a small glitch in the flow of life and You have just put that into even clearer perspective Felix-Numinous!
felix_numinous
(5,198 posts)of sending out unconditional love and light and then you send me this wonderful post Howler!!! The crystal prayer grid sounds interesting, I haven't heard of it before.
Yea, sometimes we have to hold our own space (I was going to say stand our ground, but that phrase has been ruined now) I think sometimes angels can help with this too.

(12,263 posts)For centering and strength. It is infuriating when the rules try to keep us from doing what we know is right, but negotiating from a point of anger breeds resistance in the one you are trying to convince. You are hugely spiritual and you are doing nothing wrong, Howler. That seems like a good position to make an argument.
Howler
(4,225 posts)It is much Appreciated!
BTW!!!! I can't wait to read your book!!!!! It looks so GOOD!!!! This summer is a time of reading for HowlerVille because our planting is all done so all we have to do is tend and watch them all grow!!!
Right now its chaos!!! LOL!
Gotta a feeling your book is going to be a tear jerker though.

(12,263 posts)I miss grubbing in the dirt so much! There are sad parts in my book because it deals, in part, with Cherokee history. The title, however, is taken from the name of one of my great-grandfathers. His name was Weep.
Extra light for you, howler!
Howler
(4,225 posts)When I read the cover jackets! I also knew it was going to have sad parts because of what the book is about. I mean you can't very well write of "The trail of Tears" In a light hearted manner!
Besides every now and again its really good for me to blow out my mental carberator with a Tear Jerker!

(6,096 posts)I hope this comes to an agreeable end...it is so sad to see something like this happen to you. I don't understand why people can't just mind their own business and leave others to tend to their own business.
By the way, I "love" the idea of heated kitty houses..I have 3 stray kitties I feed and my back porch is hidden from prying eyes...lol what a great idea!
Good luck with this and many hugs!!!!!!!!!!!
Howler
(4,225 posts)and thank you for the Healing Vibes!!!!
You can get the kennal heaters online for about $50:00 we also put candesant Light bulbs in the dog houses to radiate heat inside.
We bought the Igloo Dog houses for about $50 o or 75 dollars a piece. We put plastic tarps over them in the winter to keep the area dry.
Those cats really utilize our cat houses. bless their little hearts. The street is so hard on them.
