(Jewish Group) Chinese Food on Christmas day

We just ordered some take out. I live in the suburbs and our local Chinese restaurant is open on Christmas day but for the last two years the cashier had not heard of the concept that Jews eat Chinese food on Christmas day.

My kids and I have been exchanging the following messages today

I'm of the conviction that you've fulfilled a mitzvah if, out of necessity, you read the fortune on Christmas Eve and eat the cookie on Christmas Day. Or the reverse.

Or both, of course.

about the shoe bomber? She replied that if it was Christmas she was eating Chinese.

And then “her” Chinese restaurant in New York was happy to brag that fact.
