This is a good resource for a lot of antisemitic tropes, some obvious, some subtle. Many I've seen recently, even here.

(12,600 posts)I don't remember a war where the big focus of casualties was children. Is that an echo of "killing children to make matzoh?" I want to make it clear that I have seen no evidence that people believe that the civilian casualties in Gaza are because of blood libel, but I think that antisemitic trope is so engrained in our collective psyche that Hamas propogandists are able use it so effectively.
The AIPAC posts scream "Rich Jews control the government" though.
Nothing beats the Netanyahu is a rat and Likud are vermin posts, and the "Palestinians need to chant 'Jews will not replace us' in the West Bank!" though.

(9,353 posts). . . seeing the blood libel trope as well as the "greedy Jew" (they want the oil and to develop Gaza with hotels and resorts) and the evil Zionist trope (I've been called a "Zio" many times since Oct 7 for speaking out). I've seen that the Jews poisoned the water, too. And Netanyahu has become the evil conglomeration of Soros, Rothschild, and Satan combined. The "Khazar" trope and European Jews are not really Jews is super common.
And there are many more.

(41,356 posts)Here is the story about it:
In the story of Christmas, Christ was born in modern-day Palestine under the threat of a government engaged in a massacre of innocents, the Congresswoman wrote. He was part of a targeted population being indiscriminately killed to protect an unjust leaders power. Mary and Joseph, displaced by violence and forced to flee, became refugees in Egypt with a newborn waiting to one day return home.
Thousands of years later, right-wing forces are violently occupying Bethlehem as similar stories unfold for todays Palestinians, so much so that the Christian community in Bethlehem has canceled this years Christmas Eve celebrations out of both [fear for their] safety and respect, Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
Establish a Palestinian people when there was none.
Place Palestinian Arabs in the Holy Land long before Arabs actually arrived there.
Characterize Jews as religious adherents, not a people.
AOC has demonstrated an ignorance of Judaism bordering on disrespect and antisemitism multiple times in the past. In a radio interview after the October 7 Hamas massacre, she blamed the massacre on right-wing Christian fundamentalism and nationalism which has also been extremely anti-Semitic.

(9,353 posts). . . pure racism.
This is going so far that I fear people will soon be killed by the pro-hamas terrorists in this country.
This happened last night at UCLA. https://www.instagram.com/naz_hashem/reel/C8EICCsONWk/
I think this country has no idea how much danger it is in. Once the blood lust starts, it can be very hard to stop.

(41,356 posts)I spent some of the happiest years of my life there. I received an exceptional education. UCLA taught me how to think.
Seeing this hurts my heart in a deeply profound way.
This monstrous behavior is perplexing. How did these idiots get admitted?
Not only that, its finals week. Why arent they studying?
Richard D
(9,353 posts). . . many are not students there.
They trashed Royce Hall (Royce Hall, if anyone else doesn't know, is an auditorium that is the cultural heart of UCLA). Spray-painted shit all over. These "protestors" are not good people, and I highly doubt it has anything to do with "the children."
To me, they make the 1/6 insurgents look like children in a choir.

(41,356 posts)I dont think its about Palestine or Palestinians or Palestinian children. It is about Anarchy.
Richard D
(9,353 posts). . . as the roots of the violence is rooted in the Sunni extremism of groups like al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Boko Haram. Behind this is the desire to establish not only a new Caliphate but a Caliphate that is the ultimate political ruler of the world. Seen in this way, the demonstrations and near riots in the streets of America, the great Shaitan, could portend the beginning of this destruction of the non-Islamic people and the establishment of the world Caliphate. Inherent in this is convert or die. Or become a third-class citizen, little better than a slave. We ignore this at our great peril.
So why Israel? I can't really say, other than Israel seems like the cork in the bottle and the place in the Middle East that is the exact opposite of the Islamist ideal. Israel allows for sexual and religious freedom, anathema to the Islamists. A gay day parade in Iran would be high in the sky hanging from cranes by the neck. Or flying lessons off of a building in Gaza. Women in Israel are fully allowed to be in the military, dress immodestly, and have all of the freedoms available to have. We know what women's rights are in the Islamist countries. There aren't any.
This is why when I see the antisemitism rearing its ugly rectum in the West, I get why it is being manipulated into existence. Hamas put Israel into a place where they knew without any doubt how bad the retribution would be and wanted it to be as bad as possible for the sole purpose of inciting the anger of the world against Israel. Hence, the children may have been killed by Israel, but really murdered by Hamas. And the world blames Israel, who the Islamists want out of the Middle East. Not for their land, but for their freedoms.
This is a significant and frightening time. At least that is how I perceive it.

(9,353 posts). . . some Muslim countries are trying to rise out of the, is feudalism the right word, and join the 21st century, and, come to a peaceful and mutually beneficial relationship with Israel. Saudi Arabia is the most obvious one, but the other members of the Abraham Accord also are or were making that effort. One of the first things that happened as a result of Oct 7 was the almost fruiting relationship with Saudi Arabia was canceled, or hopefully must be put on hold. This was not accidental.

(4,145 posts)I've been living in Tennessee for 37 years, and I've heard the 'Jewed him down' a few times. When I've called them out for it, there's always a look of perplexion on their faces. They've just heard it growing up, and never thought of it as having to do with Jews!

(17,469 posts)Probably grew out of the QAnon nonsense. We heard one recently when the "protestor" called a Chabad rabbi a pedophile. That's part of a conspiracy theory where Jews are behind most child trafficking around the world. It ties in with the adenochome crap. The discovery of that tunnel at 770 fueled the spread of the false notion.

(9,353 posts). . . all the Qanon nonsense and the anti-vax nonsense was a trial run for this. Or this is a trial run for something we can't imagine yet.
