out here. I know I do (though I no longer drive a high-profile SUV or another such vehicle) But, it is not rare to see toppled SUVs, cars, and semis littering I-25--especially north to Wyoming. People take wind gusts lightly at their own risk.

(35,772 posts)scariest wind I was ever in was crossing the Mackinac Bridge. It aged me 10 years. It was like this video:

(92,707 posts)From near panic attack every time I crossed that bridge in a semi. I don't think I could handle it in a car.

(35,772 posts)of the bridge in 1989 and I've been spooked ever since. She plunged almost 100 feet into the Straits of Mackinac. Granted, she was in a Yugo and driving too fast for the windy conditions, but still.
I try to stay in the inside lane unless it's closed for bridge repairs which seems to be a lot.

(92,707 posts)I crossed it was a couple years before that but I had visions of that very thing happening every time I crossed, the whole way across. Every time I did cross, the speed limit was 25mph, makes five miles take forever. Agonizing if you have a phobia about bridges like I do.
