Been almost 3 years now since the tornado

Still having a rough time, getting better however. Therapy has me reliving some of the nastiness I saw. Trying to work out the sudden loss of everything. Sometimes I wonder why I can't put it behind me.

Sometimes throwing in the towel is the only sensible thing to do. Instead of staying somewhere that haunts you, going somewhere that attracts you.

Or alternatively, go somewhere you really hate, to appreciate what you left behind. You have to forgive Mother Nature, or the randomness of catastrophe.

At least you weren't betrayed by a human. Those betrayals are the worst. They are intentional.
