(18,115 posts)I don't know where it will come down. I know that her IT was criminally exposed enough to invoke 5th amendment protections and be granted immunity. I can't imagine he's the only one exposed. The FBI had been going at it too long and two federal judges found some evidence of bad faith or worse from state.
I think Hillary is smart enough to not have put herself and her candidacy at risk.

(29,047 posts)I haven't been following that story very closely. I've only read a few things on DU about it.

(16,327 posts)and the REAL scandal. Some GOPer is going to figure that out at some point and, voila!, a new Congressional investigation is born.
And I do agree it needs to be looked at because that shit stinks, regardless of a Dem or GOPer having done it.

(11,014 posts)If I were to put up a poll like
"Will XXX be charged with pedophilia?" it insinuates that XXX is a pedophile.
Hillary has broken no laws and thus there cannot be any indictment. However, asking if she will is push-polling and is utterly pernicious, nefarious and pejorative.
TacoD
(581 posts)if DU was rife with people accusing XXX of pedophilia, and I posted a neutrally-worded poll to find out who agreed with the accusations, how could you call it a push poll?

(11,014 posts)doesn't mean it is so.
It is a classic tactic. One person insinuates, another gives support and a whole bunch of people nod. There is a story in the "Panchatantra" about the phenomenon.

I have written only two other lengthy works.
My Economics thesis which analyzed the merger between two biotech companies Thermo Fisher Scientific and Life Technologies.
And a class report for the Center for International Trade and Security surrounding the United Nations decision to militarily intervene in Libya, but not Syria, during the Arab Spring.

(51,530 posts)I haven't a fucking clue. If she is we're screwed for obvious reasons. If she isn't we're screwed because the Obama administration will be accused of a cover-up. It's a no-win situation and it was all self inflicted.

Personally I sincerely hope nothing comes of this. It will be devastating to down ticket candidates that have already allied with her and I'll.be pissed if she jeopardizes any of them.
And President Obama doesn't need a scandal. I like him.

(5,636 posts)Hillary should be indicted? My god, what are people thinking. I wonder if this kind of law and order mentality is what makes many people mistrust the Bernie supporters. After all, the long arm of the law has a tendency to frame and abuse people at times. But, those who think Hillary should be indicted should not be trusted with the law, since the scandal is a Republican construction that is reduced to finding some kind of violation by combing through her legal emails.

(27,835 posts)It's sad to see some people clinging to the notion that she will be, simply because it's their preferred candidate's ONLY hope of getting the nomination.
tularetom
(23,664 posts)Obama won't allow her to be prosecuted. Not that that will do her any good. Half the country already believes she is a liar and suspects that she is a criminal as well. If she survives to be the nominee, her opponent in the general election won't let this thing drop. She won't fare well against most republicans. If the whole emailgate is handled as clumsily as I suspect it will be, even Trump will be competitive against her.
And Obama will get a lot of the blame. He'll stick his neck out for somebody who dislikes him and wind up trashing his "legacy".
