Mitch McConnell knows how bad it is going to get.

I think he has been briefed on some new intel. And I think that is why he got on the bandwagon agreeing to have an investigation. I think old Mitch gave it some thought and decided he wasn't going to get tainted and ruin his own career protecting Trump.

I have said it before, what is out there is only a fraction of what reporters are currently chasing down. There is something ugly looming to have made McConnell make a U-turn.

http://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-vladimir-putin-russia-hillary-clinton-united-states-europe-516895

Both Trump and Clinton were monitored by Russian intelligence during their visits to Moscow over the years, according to American and European intelligence sources, in hopes of gathering kompromat—compromising material about a politician or public figure. The dossier on Clinton mainly contains recordings of conversations and intercepted phone calls; the intelligence source said the dossier has been controlled by Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman. When she was secretary of state, however, Clinton knew her conversations in Moscow might be recorded, so the dossier appears to have been used mainly for intelligence rather than to embarrass her with allies, the source said. The Kremlin also has both video and audio recordings of Trump in a kompromat file. Newsweek could not confirm if there is anything compromising in those recordings.

Less reputably:

http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/308511/trump-sex-tape-russian-orgy-rumor-mother-jones/

This one details the twitter chatter about an FSB filmed sex tape of Trump.

No major source has claimed that because there has been no conformation. When you see hints of it, this is why. It is something spooks tell each other when they spin their own myths.

I am imagining a novel, a political thriller.

The leader of the free world has lots of evidence that a foreign power has influenced the outcome of an election that chose a dangerous moron sociopath as his successor. He has information from multiple super-secret agencies regarding the interference. The problems he is facing are-

1) he doesn't know who he can trust, the FBI, for one, is certainly involved in the plot
2) he needs absolute, incontrovertible proof-confessions, transcripts of phone calls, proof of software hacks and machine tampering
3) he cannot tip his hand until the time is right
4) he wants to avoid a civil war
5) he has very little time

I think I will call my main character "Barack."

It gets more like my imaginary book every day.

McConnell will hold hearings, nothing will be found and Trump will be cleared of any "wrongdoing".

McConnell will then come out and say "America can now put this whole mess behind us. Trump is the elected leader of the free world."

It's their perverted way of legitimizing him.

real evidence. of substantive fraud. election flipping fraud.
they keep talking about emails, but that dog wont hunt. we all know that. this is more.
i wonder if the cia et al has already seen voting machines. would that be sweet. the cia cracks the vote counters.

either that or they know what russia has on him. because believe me, it is about more than money. he was compromised long ago. they have been blowing up his skirt since the correspondents dinner at the least.
manafort lives in his building. isnt that convenient. how long ago did he move in, i wonder. wonder what he paid for his unit? a little something on top?

yeah, there is something in there that has not been out there yet, or they wouldnt think it relevant.

30. Something has been gnawing at me
Mon Dec 12, 2016, 11:20 PM
Dec 2016

ever since I got over the shock of the election. My observations in a nutshell:
Democratic Underground was taken down by some mysterious hackers on the afternoon of Nov 8 (election day). I was posting things as I read about both "exit poll results" and early election returns. I was also watching Predictwise, especially state by state probabilities change as the day went on. Just about the time DU went down Hillary had reached a peak of 97% chance of winning Florida. North Carolina, and notably Ohio were steadily increasing. All of a sudden (unbelievably sudden) the probabilities for her win in Florida dropped precipitously. It was bizarre. Other swing states followed suit (North Carolina and Ohio notably). Now all of this other shit has come out about the Russian interference in addition to strenuous efforts by Wisconsin and Pennsylvania (including Trump camp) to prevent forensic examination of the voting machines where they were used. Michigan just flat out obstructed any recount. Additionally the cyber experts and other scientists who concluded the nearly mathematical impossibility of the variation of the actual vote vs the raw exit polls (24 out of 28 went toward benefiting Trump--less than 1 out 13000 chance of this happening randomly) from CNN.

That's why I am convinced someone mucked with the ev counts in many swing states and probably tried to in others. However, they may have covered their tracks very well.

From the reading about how much they knew even in the summer (Mother Jones article of late October), you would have to think they had every possible means of detection in operation.

I keep thinking back to how Shitler looked during his post-election meeting with the President...like a man defeated, instead of the winner.

If the Repug-controlled Senate is in charge of the investigation, you can guess what the outcome will be. The committee will retreat behind closed doors and wait for the story to be forgotten.
