You can do whatever you want and just say 'national security'.

It worked for him.

"We released some super secret info to the electors, who had zero security clearance, and they decided to overturn the election results, but we can't tell you what we showed them and why they made the decision they did".

Yeah. That'll fly.

Their job is to vote for the person who won the electoral votes in their state. I do not want to set precedent for electors deciding to overturn the will of the people (however flawed or rigged the elections were). Otherwise, we'll have a democracy where elections mean nothing and 535 members of the electoral college can appoint whomever they want as POTUS.

Trump cannot do away with elections in 2020 no matter what he does. Our "democracy" is too deeply rooted

as envisioned by the founders, is to use their judgment and experience to prevent a unfit person from becoming President; just such an event as we have now.

Unfortunately, over the 2+ centuries of non-use they have become nothing more than a rubber stamp. But that's a by-product of human nature; it's not their job. And they can't appoint "anyone". They can only appoint one of the 3 highest vote getters.

We are going through just the type of process our Constitution mandates. But the result is, sadly, inevitable. That doesn't mean we shouldn't go through it.

due to russian hacking. Then schedule a new election within 2 weeks. Its the only fair way to resolve these issues.

Really? If the RNC didn't keep their computers secure and their laundry got aired out and Trump lost, should they ask for a do-over?

Now, if the Russians were ever able to corrupt a state's votes and swing it then I'd agree with you. But that's not what I've been hearing.

As much as they like to falsely equate them: Trump=/=Clinton. If someone convinced 60 million Americans that we should nuke our entire country so we could all go to the rapture; I would support any and all circumstances to perpetuate my "nuclear bombs don't send you to heaven" platform.

Trump voters are mindscrubbed and we need to protect them from themselves at this point like someone who has a concussion.

The Constitution provided for the only remedy: the Electoral Collage selects a different candidate. Failing that, the next opportunity is impeachment, also provided for in the Constitution.

It's interesting reading. You might want to take this opportunity to re-read it.

21. Obama should have done that on Nov. 9
Tue Dec 13, 2016, 04:10 PM
Dec 2016

He could have declared the election null & void, due to Russian hacking, and then rescheduled a new election.

Instead, he called Hillary early in the AM on Nov. 9th and suggested that she should concede.

I wonder why he did that?

Because he wanted a "smooth transition"?

As a Democrat, I feel betrayed by President Obama's lack of action after this cyber-attack by a foreign nation.

Putin got exactly what he wanted; and Obama did nothing about it.
