Which outdoor sports stores don't sell guns?

I walked into a store today feeling very outdoorsy minded and walked into a display of military-style weapons. I'm not a gun-phobe, and I thought I was pretty well informed about the state of gun philosophy in our culture, but I was amazed at my visceral reaction to a weapon on a rack in a retail store right in front of me designed for no other purpose than to appeal to the sick fantasies of people who want to kill other people, presumably as many people as possible in a short a time as possible. (Oh yeah, and maybe wild hogs.)

Anyway, I'm not going back.

I did some searching online, but didn't get far. I get the feeling that stores don't want to become a lightning rod by posting a no-guns-ever policy. So far, I'm fairly sure that REI and Campmor don't. I think LL Bean sells guns only in their home state of Maine. I could be wrong about that.

Anyone have stores to add to the list, especially in the NY/NJ/CT area?

Much thanks

You'd be hard pressed to find any outdoor store that doesn't at least sell shotguns.

There are plenty that don't stock AR15s, what I assume you're talking about.

Unless a store has a publicly stated policy of not selling AR-15 style guns, which I doubt any would, all you can know is they don't happen to have any out front today.

...on their websites. Would be odd if they had guns in their retail store without listing even supplies on their site. I'm looking for other people's input.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if there were no high-capacity magazines available for it though.

The Court held that government cannot punish inflammatory speech unless that speech is directed to inciting, and is likely to incite, imminent lawless action.

"Discuss how to enact progressive gun control reform in a supportive environment. The group serves as a safe haven in which to mobilize supporters in support of measures reducing gun violence by changing laws, culture and practice at the municipal, state, and federal levels. While there is no single solution to the tragic epidemic of gun violence, members agree that more guns are not the solution to gun violence, and are expected to be supportive of the policies of progressive gun control reform organizations."

It appears to be just more gun porn, and not "supportive" of gun control at all. I believe this OP would be more suitable in the RKBA Group.

...who want to enjoy the outdoors without implicitly supporting this country's gun culture by spending money at stores that cater to it.
