Colorado recalls: NRA doles out additional $250K with Election Day a week out
A campaign filing report released Tuesday reveals the National Rifle Association has thrown an additional $250,000 into the recalls of Democratic Sens. John Morse and Angela Giron.
The increase of about $141,000 comes a week after the nonprofits special issue committee reported spending a total of about $109,000.
Between Aug. 23 and 29 the Fairfax, Va., based nonprofit doled out three large payments of $12,252 on Aug. 27; $52,904 on Aug. 28; and $187,878 on Aug. 29.
It brings the NRAs total spending to $361,703 in the recall efforts of Morse and Giron, whose political careers are in peril for their support of stricter Colorado gun laws.
