(6,944 posts)1. The original text of the proposed 2nd Amendment:
The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; a well armed and well regulated militia being the best security of a free country; but no person religiously scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render military service in person.

(6,641 posts)2. Many other great legal minds,
including four on today's Supreme Court, totally agree with Justice Burger. The right-wing gun lobby and their political puppets have twisted ages of legal precedence into a corrupt system which allows death and injury from guns unparalleled in the civilized world.

(20,899 posts)3. The late Chief Justice Warren's comments on the 2nd Amendment are so third-quarter 20th
century for this 1st quarter of the new American century (extremely RW PNAC) where every Amurikan has a right to tote a military-grade assault weapon practically any place Amurikans gather in droves.
For the truth...
for exposure.
