I just ran a concert in Mumbai against gender-based and sexual violence

Just wanted to share some good news from a country that's swimming in bad news (e.g., "Indian Supreme Court outlaws homosexuality&quot .

I ran a concert last night as part of the UN's #16days campaign of activism against gender-based and sexual violence, leading up to Human Rights Day. The headliner was Shaa'ir + Func, who absolutely rocked the house (seriously, check them out: great band). There was no cover charge (which is unusual for the venue; Blue Frog, which is the hottest night club in downtown Mumbai). Everybody was asked to take a photo with a slogan they wrote about human rights or gender violence. (Mine was, "Gender-based violence is wrong because we are all in God's image.&quot

Here's the band at the same venue two years ago (sadly, my phone failed me last night so I didn't get videos).

Per our suggestion, the venue put up "Don't Be That Guy" style ads in the mens' rooms. We made some great contacts and got the word out to the extent we could among the crowd in question. It's a small thing, but small things are what we can do...
