There is a new group at DU.

I wanted to let y'all know DU has added an Eating Disorders Support (Group). One of the reasons I wanted to inform this group is because, sometimes, someone who was being raped or sexually assaulted/abused, takes out their fear, anger, frustration, hurt, or pain on themselves in forms related to disordered eating. Having no control over the assault, one may take to something which s/he can control, and that is food. There are also body image issues related to the aftermath of rape and sexual assault/abuse. The following is the group's statement of purpose:

A safe haven to discuss issues and experiences related to disordered eating concerns; including resources, news, and research related to such disorders including, but not limited to, food addictions, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and compulsive overeating, as well as body image issues.
